At our facility
we perform both surgical placement of implants and the restoration
of implants. Dental implants have enhanced the quality of life
for hundreds of thousands of people providing them with tremendous
benefits.
Once a tooth is
lost due to either periodontal disease or nonrestorability it
needs to be replaced to prevent the movement of adjacent teeth
, formation of malocclusion and further bone loss. Today's dental
patient has the choice of replacing teeth not only with removable
dentures and conventional bridges but also via implants that
are placed in the jaw bone with a specific surgical procedure
. Following osseointegration which is usually complete after
a few months, they serve as anchors. When they are uncovered
crowns are placed on top of those anchors (implants), that look,
feel and function as natural teeth. In some cases prior to implant
surgery an adjunct procedure needs to be performed in case there
isn't adequate bone structure.
