Phoenix Media has acquired over 500 authorized historic live recordings of bands ranging from Aerosmith to Zappa. In undertaking to release these recordings on CD, broadcast the music on an internet radio station, and work with studio recordings of bands that emphasize live performance, we will create a synergy of activities and develop this music as a genre. Our three pronged attack will allow us to maximize the impact of everything we do - on the road, on the internet, and in record stores.

Phoenix Media Group is currently negotiating to increase its tape archive to thousands of recordings, signing new bands for the Phoenix Rising label, developing its internet strategy, and building up its distribution and marketing arm.

The company was started by Tad Flynn, a veteran of Wall Street and live music fanatic. The other partners are music industry veteran Larry Braverman, live recording guru Sam Kopper, a pioneer of "progressive rock" radio and recordist of most of our live catalog.
